So imagine my surprise to find out today that I have been shortlisted under the ‘Outstanding Technician of the Year‘ category!

Outstanding Technician of the Year: David de la Haye
David de la Haye, Music Technician, is part of the Papin Award-winning Technical Team within the School of Arts and Cultures. David supports practice-based modules, sharing his passion for creative approaches to sound recording, and has been instrumental in his support of a variety of research projects, including Dippy on Tour, Mapping Contemporary Art in Heritage Experience and the Being Human festival commission. David has already received a Spotlight prize from the University at the Celebrating Success Awards, and is also the first technician at the University to receive research funding via a successful Pioneer Award for his project that blends marine engineering, citizen-science and sonic arts.
