Alongside Dr Simon Bowen (Designer-Researcher at Newcastle University Open Lab) and Martin O’Leary (Exhibit Designer at Life Science Centre), I designed an immersive audio experience inside the planetarium at the Great North Museum as part of Dippy’s visit to the North East. The interactive artwork, ‘Making Marks’, allows participants to leave a digital ‘mark’ on a virtual cave, based on the now ruined limestone cave along the Whitburn coast where many fossils and artefacts have been recovered. The sound installation part explores themes of environmental impact from travel to resources and food consumption.
The show is on throughout the Summer. Check out the dates HERE: https://twitter.com/newobnomis/status/1136224866267308033
