It’s early April 2018. My lovely lady and I decide to take a few days respite in a friend’s cottage near Castle Douglas before the birth of our first child, which is due in about a month (!). Of course, we enjoyed some peaceful walks and visits to local deli shops but I couldn’t resist getting up to record the dawn chorus as the conditions were perfect.
This is a time-compressed version of the entire dawn chorus that morning, recorded at around 4:30am from the low-side of the cottage’s long garden and right beside a babbling brook. Bliss!
This was captured on a Zoom F8 via Coresound Tetramic with approx. 30m cable. It has been decoded to Blumlein stereo.
